Weapon and Adventurer are separate choices
Arkaya and Ouyang Varen are listed with Lance on the official website. Arkaya uses Resolve; Ouyang Varen uses Impetus. A shared weapon does not give them the same defensive kit.

On the Fated Adventurer
Pre-launch systems coverage describes the Fated Adventurer as the customizable hunter who can choose among weapon types. Named Adventurers instead have a listed weapon affinity. The exact launch unlock path has not been tested for this reference.
