What recruitment means in Outlanders

Monster Hunter Outlanders gacha discussions use “summon” or “pull” for recruitment attempts. The useful unit of reference is the individual banner: its eligible results, accepted currency, probability disclosure and guarantee rules. A portrait on the official website establishes a character’s identity, not their availability in that pool.

Pre-launch reporting describes recruitment for preset Adventurers alongside a player-created Fated Adventurer and equipment crafting. Choosing a Long Sword user is therefore a different decision from crafting or upgrading a Long Sword. This wiki’s weapon catalogue is not a weapon-banner catalogue.

Rate table — last verified 30 October 2026

No numerical live rates were established in this review. “Last verified” dates the public-source check and its unknown status, not a successful in-client verification. It applies only to the sources listed below; regional rules may differ.

Base probability, the share assigned to a featured result and an effective rate including guarantees answer different questions. A base rarity rate cannot be substituted for the chance of obtaining one named Adventurer. No CBT percentages or pull thresholds are promoted to launch facts here.

Pity, featured guarantees and spark are separate rules

Pity is community shorthand for a rule that changes or guarantees an outcome after a sequence of attempts. A soft-pity rule would raise the chance before a final threshold; hard pity would set a maximum qualifying sequence. Neither a live threshold nor a soft-pity curve has been verified here.

A featured guarantee answers which result you receive, while a rarity guarantee answers its grade. A “spark” usually means choosing or exchanging for a result after accumulating a stated amount. These definitions explain the terms; they do not establish that Outlanders implements every mechanism or that its counters are shared.

Read the reset and carry-over clauses independently. An early high-rarity result might affect one counter while a cumulative milestone follows another rule. A counter showing attempts remaining is also different from a lifetime recruitment total. Do not calculate a guaranteed spending budget until the actual rules and exchange cost are known.

  1. Open the exact banner’s details and record its name, region, client version and end time.
  2. Separate the base rarity probability from the featured-result share and any rate including guarantees.
  3. Check what increments and resets each counter, including an early result and any off-target result.
  4. Check whether counters transfer between simultaneous banners, later banners or neither.
  5. Read any selection or exchange rule separately: eligible results, one-time limits and expiry.

Contracts, Rutacoin and “orbs” terminology

The official milestone page names Standard Contracts, and the Buddy Squad event lists Rutacoin among its rewards. Dated reporting also describes Featured Contracts. Those names identify resources; they do not establish today’s exchange price, how many attempts a reward buys, or whether a ticket expires.

If a guide calls the premium resource “orbs,” match it to the exact item in your client. This wiki has not verified Orbs as an official English currency name. Avoid treating similarly named tickets as interchangeable.

Resource or rewardVerification boundary
Standard ContractOfficially named in milestones. Check the banners that accept it and the cost displayed before confirming.
Featured ContractNamed in pre-launch reporting. Current acquisition routes, exchange price and restrictions remain unverified here.
Rutacoin / RutacoinsNamed in official event material and the Optimization Plan. No cash price or coins-per-pull conversion is asserted.
Selection box or Insight TicketNamed in the historical plan. Do not count a selection or progression reward as an ordinary random summon ticket.

A beginner’s pull decision starts with an available kit

Editorial notes

First decide what you want to learn with the Adventurers you already have. Read a character’s resource loop alongside their weapon entry: Arkaya and Lance are related records, but an Adventurer kit and a weapon family are not interchangeable purchases. A missing portrait is not, by itself, a problem that needs solving.

Inspect free claim routes and ticket restrictions before converting a flexible currency. If a beginner offer appears, compare its actual eligible results and terms with your needs; the word “discount” alone does not establish its value. When the rules are unclear, keeping the currency preserves your options.

Choose a spending limit independently of a counter or an expiring banner. Earlier attempts do not justify exceeding that limit. This reference recommends no paid pull target, duplicate count or reroll route.

The existing Adventurer and weapon tier lists compare provisional learning demands. Their letters are editorial interpretations of documented kits, not measured launch damage or recruitment value. Use them to formulate a practice question, then check the underlying entity records.

What would turn an unknown into a verified entry?

A useful rate update needs the complete current banner rules, not just a successful summon screen. Record region, game version, banner name, observation date, probability table and the separate guarantee, reset and carry-over clauses. Keep any test-build label visible.

A small sample of pulls cannot establish the advertised probability or prove the absence of a guarantee. This table will change when appropriate evidence is reviewed; its date is not refreshed automatically. Editorial corrections can be sent through the contact listed in the footer, without account credentials or payment details.

Frequently asked questions

Is Monster Hunter Outlanders a gacha game?

Yes. Recruitment is the character-acquisition system described in pre-launch coverage. Named Adventurers, the player-created Fated Adventurer and crafted equipment are separate concepts. A roster entry does not confirm that character is available on your current banner.

What are the current summon rates and pity?

As of the 30 October 2026 public-source review, this wiki has not verified live banner probabilities, pity thresholds or counter rules. The rate table records unknowns. Consult the exact banner rules in your client; CBT numbers are not verified launch rates.

Does pity carry over to the next banner?

Carry-over is unverified here. The rarity counter, featured-character guarantee and any selection or exchange milestone may have different rules. Check each separately before a banner expires.

Are Buddy banners still part of recruitment?

The official 11 June 2026 Optimization Plan announced removal of targeted Buddy gacha pools and free acquisition routes for featured SSR Buddies. That historical plan does not verify every launch pool or current claim route. Older Buddy-banner screenshots should retain their build context.
